November 2012 updates
Clean New Look
We updated the graphics to make it fast and easy to find what you’re after. The new graphics match the look and feel you’ll see on all ALLDATA websites and materials.
Easier to find what you’re after
Common look and feel for all ALLDATA sites and materials
We moved the search to the top-right section of the page and added the type-ahead function. As you type in the search field, the system will automatically suggest component names. Just click on a suggested term to start your search.
Search is easier to find and use
Less worry about spelling
Faster access to search results
Improved Saved-Articles List
We’ve made it easier to save and retrieve articles by:
Grouping saved articles by vehicle
Displaying more descriptive article titles
Making the saved article screen easier to access
Increasing the number of saved articles from 10 to 15
Click the icon to save an article to the list, which appears in an easy-to-view window. When you’re done with an article or repair, you can remove individual articles or all articles for a particular vehicle.
Simple to use
Longer article titles make it easy to find what you need
Listing articles under the vehicles makes them easy to find
Helps you manage your saved article list and keep it current
You can now view multiple information types with a simple click-and-go process. Filter selections remain in place as you navigate and you can clearly see filter changes in the navigation tree and search results.
Simplifies filter navigation
Lets you narrow down results to just the information types you need
Removes limitations on number of filters selected
Full-Size Article Viewing
We changed the way you view articles by eliminating pop-up windows that need to be resized and/or moved. View full articles from the navigation tree, search results, another article hyperlink, or saved articles and simply use your Internet browser back and forward buttons to move between articles.
Faster and easier to use
Eliminates moving and resizing article windows
Prevents multiple article windows from remaining open on the screen
New “Library Request” Link
Customers often tell us how much they appreciate having access to our expert research team. Now we’ve made that access easier by putting the Library Request link where you can find it quickly.
When you click on the link, you go straight to the Library Request form. The system helps out by capturing and filling in vehicle information for you, making it easy on you and helping us improve our response speed and accuracy.
Fast, easy access to our library research experts
Requires less information to be entered by you
You’ll also discover other small changes that make the system easier to use, such as clearer messages, better “getting started” information for new users, easier access to customer support, and other updates that make our products easier to use.
