Updating the Vehicle Connection Interface (VCI) Device
IMPORTANT - A computer running Microsoft Windows is required in order to complete the Vehicle Connection Interface (VCI) device update process.
Some Diagnostics app features require the VCI device to be updated to the latest version in order to function properly.
The current version of the VCI Update is 22.214.171.124
Under certain network conditions, connecting the VCI to your computer could cause your Internet connection to temporarily disconnect. To return your Internet connection to normal, make sure to unplug the VCI device from your computer after completing the update process.
To update the Vehicle Connection Interface (VCI) device:
Locate the power adapter and Mini-USB data cable that was included in the original device packaging.
On a computer running Microsoft Windows, download and run the VCI Device Driver (alldata-vci-driver).
A black box may briefly appear on the screen as the file installs.

Download and save the VCI Update (upgrade-package) file to your computer.
Note:You do not need to run this file. It will be needed for step 8.
Power up the VCI using the provided power supply (Power (Red) and Ready (Blue) lights will remain lit).
On the opposite end of the VCI, use the provided USB cable to connect the VCI to a Windows PC.
Click HERE to open the Update Utility page. (Or open a new browser tab and enter 192.168.30.1 in the address bar >> press Enter on your keyboard).
If you receive a connection error page:
Verify the VCI is fully powered up and physically connected to the PC with the provided USB cable.
Verify the IP address 192.168.30.1 was entered into the address bar.
