Growing up I always had a fascination with cars. I would spend a lot of my free time at the shop of my best friend’s father. He would always let me see what he was working on and explained everything to me.
I took basic courses in high school and then entered the ROP automotive program in my senior year. This got me headed in the right direction and I continued my automotive training into college. While in college, I got a part-time job at the local Toyota dealer. Once I graduated, that job at Toyota turned into a full-time position and I spent a total of 11-years there.
While looking for a job doing something a little different while still using my background in electronics, I decided to pursue a career as a low voltage electrician; working primarily in telecommunications. At lunch one day, while working on a project at Apple Computers, I noticed a gentleman with an ALLDATA ID badge. Finding out that ALLDATA was nearby got me curious, which led me to apply for a job. It was a great opportunity to get back into the automotive industry.
I’ve always owned too many vehicles at the same time. Rarely does my collection dip below five or six at one time. My auto collection has included multiple Toyota 4×4 trucks, a couple of Golf mk2, 16v VW’s, a 1969 Roadrunner, a 1970 Boss 302 Mustang, an original Audi Quattro, and an Audi 4000 Quattro, in which I installed a late-model Audi V8. Parking at my house can be interesting at times to say the least.
ALLDATA has been everything that I imagined it would be. It’s a company that is extremely customer and employee focused – which I feel goes hand in hand – and makes working here a real pleasure. I spent my first year working on the ALLDATA Library Research Team and have transitioned to the Automotive Diagnostic Team. There’s never a dull moment here and every day I look forward to speaking to and assisting technicians across the country.
