Growing up my father was a mechanic in the Army. I spent many
weekends working on cars with my father and twin brother.
Eventually, this turned into my brother and I building import
cars for the drag strip. I realized that this is what I wanted to
do for my career.
I saw a commercial for Universal Technical Institute (UTI) and
called them. Unfortunately, I was only 15 at the time and not
eligible. On my 18th birthday, Universal Technical
Institute called me to see if I was still interested. Three
weeks later, I started classes at UTI in Phoenix, AZ.
After completing the program with an Associate Degree, I started
a job at Ford. I worked there for 7 years. I then moved to a
Nissan Dealership where I stayed 4 years. While at Nissan, I was
asked to teach at UTI Sacramento. As an instructor at UTI, I
taught Automatic Transmissions, Manual Transmissions, Hot Rod U,
Sport Compact Tuning and Electrical. After teaching for three
years, my brother and I decided it was finally time to open our
own shop. We opened A and J Automotive Repair and Fleet
As a shop owner, I took on many roles at my business. Master
Tech, Service Writer, Parts Department Head, Billing Manager and
Book Keeper were just some of the roles I took on. After
some time, I decided to move on to another chapter in my life.
This brought me to ALLDATA.
