What is a browser and how do I know which one I’m using?

The short answer is that it’s the program that you use to access the Internet.
The browsers most commonly used by ALLDATA customers are:
Open Internet Explorer.
Select Tools >> (Microsoft) Windows Update.
If Windows Update has not been run previously, a pop-up will open asking to install the Windows Update software >> click Install.
Move your cursor to any blank space on your desktop. Right-click on the blank space >> Click New >> Shortcut.

On your keyboard, press the key
with the Windows “flag” logo and the
M key AT THE SAME TIME to minimize all
programs that are open.
Press the Alt and F4 keys
on your keyboard AT THE SAME TIME to open the Shut Down
Right-click on the My Computer or Computer icon on your computer desktop.
Click Start (or the circle with the Windows “flag” logo), then right-click My Computer or Computer.
Click Start >>
Computer or My Computer.
Under Hard Disk Drives, right-click on
Local Disk (C:).
